The Rundown - Games from 3/31/18

Here is the rundown of all MLB game from March 31st, 2018.




Pirates @ Tigers
Postponed. Game will be made as part of a doubleheader on April 1st with game 1 starting at 1:10pm and game 2 at 6:10pm.

Cardinals 2 @ Mets 6
The Mets took the lead in the bottom of the 1st and they never looked back as they stay unbeaten on the very young season. Yoenis Cespedes also put his first baseball over a fence this year with a line shot to left field.

Nationals 13 @ Reds 7
The Nationals have an offensive explosion as they hit 4 home runs including a grand slam from Brian Goodwin in the 9th. Adam Eaton was the star of the day for the Nats though going 5-5 with 4 runs and 3 RBIs. The Reds also added to the power surge with one home run each by Schebler, Duvall, and Suarez.

Astros 9 @ Rangers 3
Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa both have monster days as they each had 4 hits and combined for 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Jake Marisnick hits his 2nd homer of the season for the Astros while Elvis Andrus hits his first for the Rangers.

Angels 8 @ Athletics 3
Mike Trout started his day off quick for the 2nd straight day as he had an RBI double in the 1st inning. Angels had 12 hits on the day including their 1 through 4 batters going a combined 8 for 14 with 7 RBIs.

Yankees 3 @ Blue Jays 5
The Yankees big boppers struggle for a second straight day as Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez go a combined 1 for 11 with one walk. Justin Smoak had a nice game for the Blue Jays with 3 hits while it was Yangervis Solarte with the go ahead homer in he home half of the 8th. Tyler Austin for the Yankees had 2 bombs in the loss.

Indians 6 @ Mariners 5
After a quiet 2-1 win from the Mariners in game one the bats for both teams woke up a bit right from the jump. Yonder Alonso got the party started with a grand salami in the top of he 1st. Nelson Cruz hit his 2nd homer in as many games. But the big highlight from this game was the ageless Ichiro at 44 years old climbing the wall to rob Jose Ramirez home run.

Red Sox 3 @ Rays 2
The Red Sox spoil the throwback Devil Rays uniform appearance thanks to a homer and double from Bogaertsand a throwing error on a batted ball by Nunez. Carlos Gomez also gets his first dinger of the season.

Twins 6 @ Orioles 2
Twins get that goose egg out of the win column thanks to a dominate pitching performance where starting pitcher Kyle Gibson threw 6 no-hit innings followed by a perfect 7th before the no-hitter was given up in the 8th after a questionable check swing call on Davis with a full count that could have ended the inning instead Schoop comes up and singles to break up the no-hitter.

Cubs 10 @ Marlins 6
After a 17 inning marathon in game 2 the Cubs and Marlins go into extras again but this time only going 10 when the Cubs busted it open to score 4 in the 10th.

Phillies 2 @ Braves 15
Braves have a huge day with 15 guys crossing the plate thanks to 19 hits. 7 Braves batters had multi-hit games. Leading the way was 3B Flaherty with 4 hits and 4 runs scored. Inciarte also had a big day going 3-6 with 4 RBIs and 1 run scored.

White Sox 4 @ Royals 3
White Sox come through in the top of the 8th with a Yoan Moncada homer and Welington Castillo 2 RBI double.

Rockies 2 @ Diamondbacks 1
The Rockies can thank Charlie Blackmon and the pitching staff for this W. Blackmon hit his 2nd and 3rd dingers of the season knocking in all 3 runs for the Rockies offense (2 RBIs).

Brewers 7 @ Padres 3
Brewers new additions Christian Yelich goes 5 for 5 and Lorenzo Cain goes 3 for 4 with a walk. Both guys combing t oreach base safely in 9 out of 10 plate appearances while knocking in 4 runs. The new look Brewers are off to a hot start winning the first 3 games of the season.

Giants 0 @ Dodgers 5
For the 3rd straight time this series the game ended with one team showing a 0 in the run column only this time the Dodgers were on the good side of it. The Dodgers 2,3,4 hitters of Hernandez, Puig, and Kemp account for the only 3 RBIs of the afternoon.
